What Changed in October 2026

HHS issued an Enforcement Discretion Policy Regarding 503A Compounding Using Certain Peptide Bulk Drug Substances. While FDA finishes its review, HHS does not plan to take enforcement action against state-licensed pharmacies that compound six named peptides, as long as strict conditions are met.

HHS says the goal is to move patients away from “research use only” peptides sold online by foreign suppliers and toward a controlled, tested supply from licensed pharmacies.

It is important to understand what this policy is and is not:

  • It is not FDA approval. These peptides have not been evaluated by FDA for safety or effectiveness.
  • It is interim. The policy applies while FDA completes rulemaking on the list of substances 503A pharmacies may use. HHS may update or withdraw it.
  • It is limited. Each peptide is covered only in a specific form and route. Each product may contain only one active ingredient, so blends and “stacks” are not covered.

The policy is published in the Federal Register on October 30, 2026 (FR Doc. 2026-22192, Docket HHS-OASH-2026-0496).

The Quality Standards Behind Every Vial

The HHS policy sets specific conditions for pharmacies that compound these peptides. Every peptide we dispense meets them:

  • Registered source. The active ingredient comes from an FDA-registered, CGMP-compliant manufacturer, identified by physical location on the Certificate of Analysis.
  • Lot-level testing. Each lot has a Certificate of Analysis confirming identity, purity and potency, plus testing for endotoxins, heavy metals, microbial contamination and impurities.
  • One active ingredient. No blends or stacks.
  • Cleared syringes. Injectable products are paired with FDA 510(k)-cleared syringes.
  • Clear labeling. Every label states: “This is a compounded drug product. Not for resale.”
  • Safety reporting. Serious adverse events and quality issues are reported to FDA MedWatch and state regulators.

Safety Notes

The FDA does not review or approve compounded medications, and these six peptides are not FDA-approved. HHS has acknowledged that they have not been fully evaluated for safety and may carry risks. Peptides sold online as “research use only” are not made for human use and are not held to these standards. We work only with pharmacies and suppliers that meet the HHS requirements described above. If you have a reaction or concern, contact your provider and call us at (469) 625-1000.

Frequently Asked Questions

Are compounded peptides FDA-approved?

No. HHS's 2026 policy means it does not intend to take enforcement action against licensed pharmacies that compound these six peptides under strict conditions. That is not the same as FDA approval, and the policy is interim.

How is this different from peptides I can buy online?

Peptides sold online as "research use only" are not intended for people and are not held to pharmacy standards. Our peptides come from FDA-registered manufacturers, are tested lot by lot, and are dispensed only with a valid prescription.

Do I need a prescription?

Yes. Compounded peptides require a valid prescription from a licensed provider. We welcome prescriptions from a provider you already see, or you can request a virtual appointment.

Does Medrocs compound these peptides?

No. Medrocs partners with a licensed, accredited sterile compounding pharmacy that prepares these medications.

Do you require a subscription?

No. There is no subscription or membership. You only pay for your medication when it's dispensed.

Can you ship outside Texas?

No. Medrocs serves patients in Texas only.
